The third Galway County Cubs CSA camp was held in Ruan from the 22nd to the 24th of April. We had 72 cubs from 11 groups attending including guests from Killaloe and Mallow. All cubs attending camp took part in the planning and running of the camp and they elected their own camp chief. We had comedy skits on Friday evening. The backwoods bake off on Saturday was judged by Galway Deputy CC John Downs and won by 1st. St. Nicholas. We then played some old scout games to celebrate 100 years of cub scouting. The fantastic weather helped make this camp a great weekend for us all.
We were delighted to receive a visit from the Chief Scout and Provincial Commissioner Joe Doherty who took time to talk to all of our cubs. We concluded their visit by holding a Grand Howl with the Chief acting as Akela.
Special thanks to James our Cub Camp Chief who was presented with a special woggle by the Chief.
