27th Tipperary Fethard & Kilusty, Beavers and Cubs undertook the National Spring Clean on a cold and breezy Monday 24th April whereby all little beavers and bigger cubs journeyed around the historic town of Fethard collecting any litter and rubbish they could get their hands on, After receiving their pack from An Taisce along with their tabards, gloves and litter bags, they managed to collect 6 bags of rubbish which will be collected by our local county council. In all there were 16 Beavers and 19 Cubs in action around the town, and before we headed back to the Den with our bags of rubbish the children had a 20 min reward of a visit to the local Playground. We would be hoping that this will give Fethard town favourable voting when the tidy towns committee come around for judging. The Cubs have put up Leave no Trace signs around the town which are laminated and strategically placed in litter hotspots around the town so hopefully this will deter any litterbugs from dropping their unwanted rubbish.
