-Pic…D.P.BarryThe Southern Provincial Gathering held at Kilcully Campsite was very well attended with a host of National figures and speakers in attendance. There were be two streams on the day covering Programme related matters and the Governance Review. Each stream was run both with morning and afternoon sessions and delegates had the option to attend both or whichever one they choose.

The Programme stream in particular covered JamboRi 18, World Scout Jamboree 2019 and the Uniform Review.  This provided an opportunity to get a lot of information on the Jamborees and indeed there were many thoughts expressed.  The youth reps came very much into their own when it came to discussing the uniform and what changes, if any, should be considered.

The Governance stream will be looking for your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on the future structure at National Level and will also provide an opportunity to get clarifications on any Governance related issues.  The Provincial Commissioner Derek Long said “I was very pleased with the participation of both the senior and youth members and the way they expressed themselves in a confident manner.  Some of our youth members certainly brought some lighter moments on the discussion on the uniforms and were good for a laugh themselves in presenting some of the ideas.  The important thing is that they were given a platform and a voice”
