Colin Lynch Recognised for Service to Scouting

In Scouting it’s important that we recognise the contributions made by over 10,000 individuals that volunteer their time at all levels in the association to make the best possible experience for our youth members and support other volunteers in doing that.

At Malahide Sea Scout Groups annual leaders Social night outgoing Group Leader Colin Lynch was presented with a Gold Merit award by Scouting Ireland for “Services to Scouting”. The award was presented on behalf of the Association by Deputy Group Leader Kevin Rowan who embarrassed him appropriately by reading the citation of his achievements from an early age in the Group. The mention of more recent events and in particular his leading of the team who refurbished the Scout Den to make it a center of Scouting excellence and the landmark building in the center of the village that it is today. Colin’s acceptance of the award was warmly received by all of those present.
