This Week in Scouting

The summer season is here! Many groups took last week as an opportunity to enjoy the out of doors to kick-start what is bound to be a busy summer for Scouting Ireland!

Beaver Scouts Beaver Scouts

Fairview Beaver Scouts enjoyed a tour of the Howth Coast Gaurd and completed a 6km hike!

Cub Scouts

Last weekend saw a successful inaugural “Just Add Water” Cub Scout National Event with many groups from across the country providing Cub Scouts with an opportunity to experience all that water has to offer!

Shannon Cub Scouts partaking in the Clare Scout County Event.

Cub Scouts from across Mayo also enjoyed their county event.
Meanwhile Omagh Cub Scouts explored An Creagán, making pancakes over the fire, building shelters, modelling with clay, painting and generally getting very muddy and dirty.


Many County Phoenix Challenge Qualifiers took place over the weekend showcasing Patrols campcrarft skills including;
Lee Valley Scout County

Limerick Scout County

While Malahide Sea Scout took to the water for their practical sessions of the MSS Nautical Training Award.

 Venture Scouts

Carlow Town Venture Scouts traveled to Graiguenamanagh for a spot of kayaking on the Barrow and an overnight in the Scout Den.

Down & Connor Venture Scouts were out hiking Divis Mountain!


 Rover Scouts

Last week saw Scouting Ireland representatives promoting the World Scout Moot 2021 at DPSG’s (German Catholic Scout Association) Leuchtfeuer event.

While there our representatives got the opportunity to share how our Youth Programme involves youth members and how to empower functioning sections.

Waterways Ireland thanked 5th Roscommon Moore Scout Group for the brilliant job they did of cleaning up the Ballinasloe Marina area.
