This Week in Scouting

Last week saw many groups partaking in a variety of different activities from canoeing to supporting Darkness in to Light in aid of Pieta House. What have you got planned for this week?

Beaver Scouts Beaver Scouts

Beaver Scouts from Armagh got out on the water to try canoeing.

While Beaver Scouts from Little Island/Glounthane explored LE James Joyce.

 Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts from Tuam partook in a walk along the River Nanny and learned about biodiversity.

Togher Cub Scouts explored all that Mount Melleray Scout Centre has to offer.


Aughrim Street Scouts were one of the patrols to reach the summit of Mullaghcleevaun (849m) at this years Leinster MPC.

 Venture Scouts

Malahide Sea Scouts were busy learning essential sea survival skills.

Waterford Scout County with the support of the Backwoods Adventure Skills Team hosted their Adventure Survivor event.

 Rover Scouts

The NUIG Rover Soc furthered their work on their wonderful annual initiative to collect items in aid of COPE Galway and the Irish Cancer Society.

In other News

Groups from every corner of the country supported Darkness in to Light in aid of Pieta House to create a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance. We saw every section get involved;

Beaver Scouts from Carrigaline, Cork.

Donnycarney Scout Group hosted their own event from Larch Hill Scout Centre with 70 walkers of all ages.

Meanwhile Venture Scouts, Rover Scouts, and Scouters supported Phoenix Park in hosting 15,510 walkers. “>http://
